Marcel Siem’s sensational chip on the 18th to capture the BMW Masters with his 23rd birdie of the tournament in Shanghai propelled him up to fourth in the Race to Dubai and the prospect of a windfall climax to his first season with Wilson Staff during the brand’s centenary.

In adding to his three European Tour titles after switching to Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons (3-9) in January, Siem has joined five of Europe’s Ryder Cup stars in the top six ahead of the two remaining events in the Final Series – the WGC-HSBC Champions event also in Shanghai and the Turkish Airlines Open – before the season’s finale at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai on 20 November.

Commenting on his achievement with the brand that has won more Majors (61) than any other iron manufacturer, the colourful German said: “It’s extra meaningful joining the Wilson Staff brand and winning during its centenary year…and the 62nd Major is a goal I want to achieve.”

As a member of the Wilson Staff Advisory team, Siem has worked closely on club development with the innovation team in Chicago and provided valuable feedback on the new FG Tour V4 irons set to launch in January. “Marcel has a discerning eye for detail and is known for making calculated changes to his equipment, so his input into the new irons is priceless for us,” said Doug Wright, Global Commercial Director at Wilson Golf. “He’s very confident in using his V2 irons and they’ve played a key role in putting him into such an exciting position going into the season finale with so much to play for.”

Fellow Staff Advisory member Kevin Streelman registered another stunning victory in June with Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons, when he finished the PGA Tour Travelers Championship with a record seven consecutive birdies.
