Scottish Amateur Golf International, Adam Dunton of Ellon Golf Club, has won the WAGR and SGU Order of Merit 2014 Sutherland Chalice Golf Tournament at Dumfries & Galloway Golf Club.

Dunton, had the luxury of posting a +1. 71, in the final round for -9, 271, to edge out local pair, Greig Marchbank from Thornhill and Scott Gibson from Southerness, who both finished on -8, 272.

The winner carded rounds of 68, 67, 65 and 71. Marchbank posted scores of 71, 68, 66 and 67.

Gibson, who was five shots clear at the mid-way point slumped to a +4, 74, under the pressure of being the runaway leader. This allowed Dunton to move four shots ahead going into the final round after an incredible 9 shot swing after posting a third round of -5, 65. He showed great character to fight back and was just edged out by the winner.

Scottish amateur golf international, Daniel Young from Craigie Hill Golf Club, finished fourth on -6, 274, with another very consistent performance. Young, fired rounds of 67, 70, 71 and 66.

2014 Scottish Champion of Champion, Scott Borrowman of Dollar Golf Club, also recorded another steady result in finishing fifth place with rounds of 71, 67, 69 and 69.
