The 2014 Tour season concluded on Sept. 21st. The Tour

Qualifying Tournament Final Stage is the last event of 2014. It will take place Dec. 11-16 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (see note below for more details).

SEPTEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH – Derek Fathauer was named Tour Player of the Month for September. The Stuart, Fla. native won the season-ending Tour Championship and was in first or second place at the 36-hole mark in all four Tour Finals’ events. He led the Finals’ money list with finishes of T9, T16, T8 and 1st.

– Solid performances were turned in at the 2014-15 PGA TOUR season-opening Open by recent Tour grads and first-time PGA TOUR members Jon Curran (T8), Zac Blair (T12) and Tony Finau (T12). Derek Fathauer picked up where he left off in September with a T12.

Q-SCHOOL FIRST STAGE CONTINUES – The First Stage of the Tour Qualifying Tournament continues this week (Oct. 14-17) at Pine Mountain, Ga., West Palm Beach, Fla. and Dayton, Nev. The First Stage, which features 13 sites, wraps up next week with four more qualifiers. Second Stage takes place Nov. 11-14 and Nov. 18-21 at six venues. The Final Stage is scheduled for PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Dec. 11-16. First and Second Stages are 72 holes, with fields of approximately 78 players. The Final Stage is 108 holes played over six days, with an expected field of 156. Everyone who makes it to Final Stage will earn Tour access, with their finish dictating their eligibility position for the 2015 season.

TPC CARTAGENA AT KARIBANA ANNOUNCED – The TPC Network announced an addition to its international profile with the grand opening last Friday of TPC Cartagena at Karibana in Colombia. The premier international standard resort and real estate development is the second licensed TPC property in Latin America (TPC Cancun/Mexico) and is located along the Caribbean Sea. Its Jack Nicklaus Design layout will host the Tour’s new Karibana Championship March 2-8 as part of the Tour’s season launch in Latin America.

HOT HAND IN LATIN AMERICA – Jacksonville, Fla.’s Tyler McCumber is the hot hand on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica the last few weeks. The 2013 University of Florida grad has won two of the tour’s last three events, in Quito, Ecuador and Mazatlán, Mexico. With $71,266 in 11 starts, he trails No. 1 Marcelo Rozo of Colombia by $3,570. The top-five money leaders will graduate to the Tour in 2015. McCumber is the son of 10-time PGA TOUR winner Mark McCumber.
