Play has been suspended for the day in the Amateur Championship 2014 at Royal Portrush Links and Portstewart Golf Club due to persistent fog.

Only limited play was possible this morning before thick fog enveloped both courses. This resulted in an eight hour thirteen minute delay at Royal Portrush and a four and a half hour delay at Portstewart. Play resumed at both courses but was subject to further suspensions throughout the afternoon.

Play is scheduled to resume at both golf courses at 7.30am on Wednesday 18 June, 2014. Players who have commenced their second round and have discontinued play due to the suspension are required to report to their assigned venue for a roll call at 7.00am.

The Royal Portrush and Portstewart clubhouses and golf practice grounds will be open at 6.00am.

A revised second round draw will be posted on the R&A website later this evening. However, competitors should contact the Championship Office on 01334 213 400 (option 1) if there are any questions.
