Ballumbie Castle Golf Course

Ballumbie Castle golf course is a 6,012 yards par 69, short by today’s standards but none the less a very enjoyable track.

This Dundee Gof Course is interesting with no two holes the same and golfers will use most clubs in the bag.

There is a premimum on accuracy as opposed to power and it is not necessarily to hit a golf driver off every tee. Especially, for the first six holes of this Angus Golf Course where position off the tee is more important than driving distance.

The most difficult stretch of the Ballumbie Castle course starts at the 10th hole, a par four with a burn running next to the fairway and a sloping bank to the right, as well as a pond to the left of the green.

The 11th hole is a tough par three with a water hazard. This part of the golf course, though short, catches out many unsuspecting golfers.

The 13th is a testing 535-yard, par five uphill and usually into the prevailing wind.

Although a fairly new golf course in the Dundee area, Ballumbie Castle golf course is a welcome addition to the golfing scene in Angus. With its warm welcome from staff, excellent practice facilities and comfortable golf clubhouse, Ballumbie Castle Golf Club and it’s course is a good example of Scottish golfing at its very best.
