WITHDRAWAL: Larry Laoretti, Palm City, Fla.

LARRY LAORETTI has withdrawn from the 2014 U.S. Senior Open Championship on Friday, July 11, after playing his opening 12 holes in the second round.

Laoretti, the 1992 U.S. Senior Open champion, shot an 11-over-par 82 in the first round of the U.S. Senior Open.

Laroetti celebrated his 75th birthday today and was the oldest player competing in the championship. He was playing in his 19th U.S. Senior Open.

WITHDRAWAL: Dave Podas, Los Angeles, Calif.

DAVE PODAS has withdrawn from the 2014 U.S. Senior Open Championship on Friday, July 11, because of a medical issue.

Podas, who advanced to U.S. Senior Open as the first alternate from the Mira Loma, Calif., sectional qualifier, shot a 10-over-par 81 in the first round of the Senior Open on Thursday.

Podas, who was playing in his first U.S. Senior Open, was scheduled to start at 2:45 p.m. CDT in Friday’s second round from the first tee with Charles Bolling and Tony Smith.
