The French Ladies Golf Team beat Finland 4 1/2-2 1/2 in the 2014 European Women’s Amateur Golf Team Championship Final at Ljubljana, Slovenia,

England were heavily defeated 5 1/2-1 1/2 by Switzerland in the third place play-off.

Scots Corner

The Scottish Ladies Golf Team finished the on a high with a 5-0 win against Austria in their last Flight B match

Alyson McKechin and Scottish champion Gabrielle MacDonald got the Scots off to a great start with a 3 and 2 victory in the opening tie.

Victories followed in the singles for Curtis Cup players Gemma Drybuyrgh (5 and 4) and Eilidh Briggs (3 and 2).

Foursomes: A McKechin and G MacDonald bt M Eikenaar and M Schipper 3 and 2 (1-0).

Singles: G Dryburgh bt C Puts 5 and 4, E Briggs bt D Weber 3 and 2, J Meek bt I D Nieuwenhuis 3 and 2 C Jaffrey bt A Van Dam 3 and 2.

ENGLAND 1 1/2, SWITZERLAND 5 1/2

Foursomes: C Thomas and E Mallett lost to K Metraux and M Metraux 4 and 3; H Davis and M MacLaren lost to A Valenzuela and G Carpinelli at 21st (0-2)

Singles: MacLaren lost to M Metraux 5 and 4, B Law bt K Metruax at the 19th hole, G Cowley lost to L Damerau1 hole, Davis lost to Carpinelli 1 hole, Thomas halved with Valenzuela.
