Chris Robb from Meldrum House Golf Club, Oldmeldrum has comfortably won the 2014 East of Scotland Open Amateur Stroke-play Championship at Lundin Golf Club, Fife.

The former NCAA college golfer at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, carded impressive rounds of 67, 66, 66 and 67 to record victory at the 72-hole event by eight shots with an 18-under-par aggregate of 266.

This was the scond win for the former Scottish Boys Golf International on the SGU Golf Circuit, having already won the North-east District Open at Newmachar Hawkshill Golf Course.

Runner-up was South African Martin Rohwer who produced the low round of the tournament with an eight-under-par 63 on the way to finishing on 10-under-par, 274.

In third place was former Scottish Golf International and ex South African Amateur Golf Champion Brian Soutar of Leven Golfing Society, who finished a distant 12 shots behind the winner with rounds of 71, 67, 70 and 70 for -6, 278.

Next best placed on -2, 282, were Lawrence Allan (Alva) 67 73 72 70, Daniel Kay (Dunbar) 70 72 68 72 and Josh Jamieson (St Andrews New) 66 72 70 74.
