Byron Meth from San Diego, CA, beat Doug Ghim of Arlington Heights, IL at the 37th hole to win the 2014 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.

Meth, went 2-up early in the second round,moved further ahead to 3-up but was unable to shake off Ghim.

Ghim, battled back to make it all square on the 30th hole and forced the final into extra time, which Meth won with a bogey on the par-4 first hole.

Meth had defeated Jess Bonneau in the semi-final to reach the finale after sharing medalist honors with three others, including Ghim.

Ghim defeated local favorite Michael Gellerman in the other seni-final tie to reach the championship final.
