Heading into this week’s The Open Championship 2014 at Royal Liverpool (Hoylake) Golf Club there was no bigger advert for the TaylorMade Golf Equipment brand than two huge wins on both sides of the pond at The Scottish Open 2014 at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club and John Deere Classic 2014 at TPC Deere Run.

Harman, who spent many years coming through the ranks and serving his time on the U.S. Development Tours, such as the eGolf Tour, secured his first PGA TOUR Victory. The major bonus was to board a fuelled jet to take him to The Open 2014 to peg it up.

On the UK Golf side of the pond, Rose, moved through the gears on the final day to record victory at the Aberdeen Asset Management sponsored Scottish Open at Balgownie Links. This was the English golfers’ only win as a touring professional and his second career victory in the Home of Golf, having won the 1997 St Andrews Links Trophy as a 16 year-old amateur golfer.

What impressed me the most with these two victories for TaylorMade Golf Gear was the way it was achieved. The message sent and most certainly received was – you can go low with this brand of golf equipment. Moving up through the gears, Rose, carded ever-improving rounds of 69, 68.66 and 65, whereas on the USA Golf side of the pond, Harman, fired rounds of 63, 68, 65 and 66.

Whilst the new Cobra Golf sales and marketing slogan is ‘Go Looooong‘ with BioCell+ equipment, perhaps TaylorMade Golf Gear should consider ‘Go Looooow‘ with their brand?! = this was ‘shoot the lights out‘ scoring!!!!!

Quite certain, there is now going to be massive worldwide interest in the new TaylorMade Golf Equipment. I’d better hot foot it down to my nearest golf driving range to give this golf gear another test drive before I get stampeded in the rush.
