Ancient Sands Golf Resort is a new gated development located to the north west of the existing Abu Tig Marina and the New Super Yacht Marina in the town of El Gouna, on the Red Sea Coast. Ancient Sands is located just 22 km (about 20 minutes drive) north of Hurghada, Egypt.

El Gouna has 14 hotels, numerous chic bars and restaurants, plus a range of shops and market areas. There is an 18 holes golf course designed by major champion Fred Couples at El Gouna Golf Club  and the nearby Makadi Bay, just south of Hurghada.

If golfers wish to play more than just one golf course. In addition, to the Ancient Sands Golf Course which is scheduled to open in 2015, there are other beautiful courses within reasonable traveling distance. These include the Gary Player designed The Cascades Golf & Country Club and several other golf courses are planned at the likes of Sahl Hasheesh and Gamsha Bay.

Getting There

Egypt Air is the main airline, but a number of other international flight providers also operate flights to Hurghada International Airport including British Airways, KLM, Thomsonfly, Austrlian Airlines, Alitalia, Thomas Cook, Air Berlin and Lufthansa.

Ancient Sands Resort is approximately five hours drive south-east of Cairo.

By sea, visitors can reach the town of El Gouna via the Suez Canal or the Arabian Sea. Abu Tig Marina has 126 berths and is approximately 15 minutes walk from Ancient Sands.
