Asian Development Tour (ADT) hopefuls will have a last chance to secure their Asian Tour cards for next year when the 2014 season concludes with its record 21st leg at the PGM MIDF KLGCC Championship next week.

The season finale will be staged at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club from December 3 to 6 with an international field from the ADT lining up alongside the leading players from Malaysia. The top-five finishers on the final ADT Order of Merit will secure playing rights on the Asian Tour in 2015.

Niall Turner of Ireland and American Brett Munson, who sit in third and fifth positions on the money list respectively, will be aiming to maintain their current ranking as they bid to end the season with a flourish in the RM250,000 (approximately US$80,000) event.

With Thailand’s Pavit Tangkamolprasert already crowned the 2014 ADT Order of Merit champion and Chan Shih-chang of Chinese Taipei sitting in second place, the PGM MIDF KLGCC Championship promises to be a thriller as players vie for the remaining three cards on offer.

A US$13,400 cheque is at stake for the winner at the PGM MIDF KLGCC Championship next week which means Malaysia’s Arie Irawan, Grant Jackson of England, Nils Floren of Sweden, Thai duo Pijit Petchkasem and Annop Tangkamolprasert, placed sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th on the money list will stand a chance of breaking into the top-five with a victory.

Since its inauguration in 2010, the ADT has grown from five events in the first year to a record 21 tournaments in 2014. The ADT has announced a provisional 2015 schedule of a minimum 17 tournaments with several more to be announced in due course.

All ADT events will receive Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points which is a boost for the game in the region.

The winner of the PGM MIDF KLGCC Championship gets six Official World Golf Ranking points while the top six players and ties earn points based on a sliding scale.
