The prizemoney for The Open Championship has increased gradually every year and it will be very interesting to see if the 2015 British Open Golf Prizemoney offers a winning 2015 Open Golf Purse of £1,000,000 for the very time at St Andrews. Especially, when it is expected there will be a big celebration and recognition of five-times Open Golf Champion, Tom Watson of the USA, making his final appearance in The Open 2015 at the Home of Golf.

The winner of the 2014 Open Championship earned £975,000 in prizemoney. Therefore, the R&A only need to add £25,000 for the 2015 Open Championship Purse so that the winner’s cheque of £1,000,000 can be reached.

For the 2014 Open Championship, RandA had a total purse of £5,400,000 on offer to those taking part at the 143rd Open Championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, which represented an increase of £130,000 on the 2013 Open Golf prize fund. I would envisage for the golf prizemoney for The Open Championship 2015 there would be a similar increase.

As soon as we have the 2015 British Open Payouts, we shall publish this information in due course. If you wish to access this information and other prizefunds for the 2015 European Tour and 2015 PGA Tour, please access the following link.
