The Royal & Amcient has announced that the third round of The Open Championship 2014 will be played with a two tee start due to forecast thunderstorms tomorrow (July 19).

The decision by the R&A to was made in an effort to minimise the effect of disruptive weather that is expected to arrive in the early hours of the morning and continue for several hours.

Play will also commence in three-balls. The revised format isexpected to save around three and a half hours of playing time.
